Our 3-night cruise aboard Yangzi Explorer takes you through the scenic heart of the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges, with included shore excursions. The 5-star Yangzi Explorer boasts the highest ship staff-to-guest ratio on the river. All cabins include a mini bar, bathrobes and slippers, phone, private safety box, TV, hair dryer, and private balcony. Offering all the amenities one would expect at a 5-star hotel, Yangzi Explorer features a fitness center; multi-language library; spa facilities; theater; lounge; and espresso bar. International buffets are offered for breakfast and lunch, while dinner tempts with a variety of international and Chinese specialties; wine and beer are included with meals aboard the ship. With the highest staff-to-guest-ratio on the Yangtze, you know you are going to be totally taken care of aboard the Yangzi Explorer. Wake up in your recently renovated stateroom showcasing contemporary Chinese design elements complete with new amenities ranging from bed linens to bathrobes and slippers. A fully stocked minibar, TV, phone, hairdryer, and private safety box are also available for you along with coffee and tea starting at 6:30 am. Step out onto your private deck to admire the views as you prepare for an optional Tai Chi exercise class from a certified master to get the blood flowing and stretch out your body for the exciting day ahead. A team of internationally-trained chefs prepare an innovative mix of both Chinese and western dishes starting with a buffet breakfast consisting of an endless array of options to choose from. Start the day with breakfast your way… every day with dietary restrictions always taken into consideration. Spend the morning sailing past Qutang Gorge with its steep precipices, narrow canyons, and high mountains and then onto Wu Gorge, home to the famous 12 peaks of the Wushan Mountains before enjoying a delicious buffet lunch with an opportunity to try something new or perhaps indulge in an old favorite. Refreshed from lunch, you have the opportunity to head out for a unique ride along the Shennong Stream on a sampan – a traditional longboat rowed by expert Tujia boatmen… as you gently float past this stunning riverine gorge flanked by verdant forest. After a day filled with unprecedented scenery, enjoy some time to yourself as you attend various presentations onboard including a Chinese brush painting and calligraphy class or perhaps a massage in one of the six uniquely designed oriental private treatment rooms. The many lounges and bars onboard offer the perfect locations to sit and chat with new friends. Dinner is served in the single-seating style Dynasty Palace on the Main Deck in a la carte style and offers the opportunity to savor traditional Chinese cooking at its finest.
