Meet Our Cruising Partners
We’re a family business whose success has been built on the core values of integrity and innovation. We seek to build long-term relationships with Tauck partners who share our passion for providing our guests with life-enhancing travel experiences and putting people first... our commitment to doing the right thing... and our eagerness to innovate while upholding Tauck’s culture, beliefs and values.
Travel has changed considerably since Arthur Tauck Sr. took our first group of guests out on the back roads of New England more than 90 years ago. And so has Tauck. And along with us, our partnerships have grown to include relationships that stretch around the globe. Our partners are the key to our success. They ensure our guests’ satisfaction, uphold our high standards for service, quality, and comfort, and meet our Tauck guest expectations with grace. Some of our partnerships span the decades, while others are relatively new – but all are testimony to the connections and friendships so integral to creating a small ship cruising experience that’s second to none.
The Tauck family has long had a passion for sailing – and once we started taking guests on small ship cruises of our own, it was evident that we would blend our land experience with our strong passion for cruising, and that our guests would sail the seas in the same beyond-the-ordinary Tauck style they experienced on our land trips. Eventually, we found three partners who share our values and our commitment to providing a small ship cruise experience inspired by the destinations we explore, and that would match our guests' experience ashore. Meet them here...
Partner Since 1995
For more than two decades, Tauck guests have sailed on some of the sleekest small ships on the high seas, thanks to Ponant Cruises, our largest cruise partner. When Ponant’s founder Jean-Emmanuel Sauvée, based in Marseille, launched the company in 1989, his mission was clear: to bring travellers to “mythical destinations and secret ports” accessible only by small ship and to offer “front-row seats to nature’s spectacles.” From Antarctica to the Mediterranean, the British Isles, Iceland, Norway, the Baltics, Australia / New Zealand and Japan, Ponant achieves this par excellence for Tauck guests. Currently, aboard the three-masted Le Ponant and the super-yachts Le Boréal, L’Austral, Le Soléal, Le Lyrial and Le Lapérouse, our guests enjoy flexible cruising, waterside dining, and a relaxed, casual feel along with attentive service from bilingual crews.
Partner Since 1998
Founded in 1984 as Windstar Sail Cruises, Windstar Cruises today is one of the world’s leading operators of small luxury cruise ships. Its award-winning fleet of six yachts accommodating between 148 and 310 guests sails to some 150 ports in 50 nations across the globe. Our guests have enjoyed Tauck’s personalised sailing on Windstar ships for many years, including the company’s classic yacht Wind Star, cruising the Panama Canal for Tauck in 2018. Today, the latest additions to Windstar’s fleet – the all-suite power yachts Star Pride, Star Breeze and Star Legend – carry Tauck guests on small ship cruises along the coasts of Spain and Portugal, and in the Adriatic along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast to Greece.
Partner Since 1998
Metropolitan Touring has been helping travellers to discover Ecuador’s wonders for more than 60 years. Their mission goes beyond sharing the region’s beaches, wildlife and sea life, to offering a taste of the adventurous spirit that drives everything they do. Great colleagues and friends, the members of the Metropolitan Touring team can be relied on for seamless operations in Ecuador – in Quito, Guayaquil and the Galápagos Islands. Both ashore and aboard Metropolitan’s classic expeditionary vessels in the Galápagos, Isabela II (operating exclusively for Tauck) and Santa Cruz II, the attention to detail and care shown for our guests is outstanding.
